Client was charged with a misdemeanor petty theft from the base. Our client worked for immigration for over 20 years and was afraid that she was going to lose her job. The police officer that arrested her even called her employer to advise them that she had been arrested. Our client was facing up to a possible 10 days in jail, a fine in the amount of $1000 and probation. Our client was going to retire a year early just so it did not affect her job. We were able to negotiate the case with the District Attorney and they agreed to a Civil Compromise. Our client paid the base back for the loss which also included loss of man-hours during the arrest and investigation. The base signed a Civil Compromise. All charges were dismissed against Our client.
