Our client was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Los Angeles Superior Court in November 1981. The client and a friend were playing with a firearm when the gun accidentally went off, striking and killing the friend. Our client served 48 months’ probation but was not sentenced to jail time. He was discharged from probation in November 1985.
The client came to Wallin & Klarich seeking a Governor’s Pardon so that he could have his felony conviction stricken from his criminal record, making it easier for him to gain employment. On Dec. 24, 2013, Gov. Jerry Brown granted a full pardon to our client.

Former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger only granted a total of 16 pardons throughout his entire seven-year tenure as governor. Governor Gray Davis granted no pardons when he was governor.
